Name Registration
Once you've decide that you need a web site,
then you need to decide upon a domain name. The domain name
is that thing that people type into their web browsers to
find you, for example avalonwebsitedesign.com or amazon.com.
Securing a domain name can sometimes be a hassle, especially
for people who don't really care to deal with the ins and
outs of their web site. That's where Avalon WSD comes in.

Remember to select specify ".com" , ".net",

Match" or it will give details regarding the

Web Hosting
Now that you have a web site built and a domain
name, you need a place for the site to live. Web Hosting
is like renting a room for all your files to live in. Basically,
they live on a web server. Once a person types your URL (domain
name) , into the web browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape,
etc.) the web browser contacts your server and the server "serves" up
the files (your web site) to the visitor. Avalon WSD sells

Updates
and Maintenance
Once your site is on the World Wide Web, you
are going to want to keep it up to date. Sites that do not
update with new content on a regular basis have a tendency
to not attract visitors. You really need to keep it updated.
This is where Avalon Web Site Design comes in. With just
an email or phone call to Avalon WSD, your changes will be
posted to your site, usually within a few hours, if not minutes,
depending on the size of the update. Updates and maintenance

site is the original that Avalon WSD designed for them.
They had a great idea for a business but didn't have
a web site. The business owner had an idea of what
she wanted, and so we worked around that and together
we came up with a nice, wedding-type of site that served
the business well for a few years. |

In 2003,
the owner decided that her business was really growing
and wanted a different look to the web site. Avalon
Web Site Design came up with a really nice design that
ELDWeddings.net really liked and the site was done
in very short order. Some of the same site elements
were used to create continuity but the owner had a
new logo that she wanted to incorporate and it the
logo lent itself to creating a really nice, crisp site

Email Setup
Hopefully with your business, you are using
the power of the internet to reach your potential customers
or your current clientele. Sending text only-email is really
pretty dull for a business these days. Avalon Web Site Design
can create an email template for you that you can drop into
your own email program and send to your mailing list. It's
basically like getting a little web page with text, graphics,
and links that work while the reader is online.
Although Avalon can create the graphic email,
it would be best for you to use a custom email service for
the actual sending of your email. Those services are equipped
to handle subscriptions, spam filters, and they offer database
management for your list of names. However, one company in
particular will charge you $499.00 to make the custom template.
If Avalon has already built your web site, then most of the
graphics are in hand and it's just a matter of putting them
together for your email template. It will be nowhere near
the price of $499.00.
